Student Leadership gives Prairie Hills' scholars the opportunity to gain experience in Student Government. Two students are elected from each third, fourth, and fifth grade classroom. As a student leadership representative, scholars model the attributes of our Prairie Hills Larks Pledge. Our program is looking for students who meet certain criteria. Student Leadership Representatives are Learners. They are productive, successful, and competent in the classroom. A representative has an Active mind that is thoughtful and creative. Representatives are Respectful and strive to be good citizens. Student Leaders are Kind and ethical in their actions. Lastly, representatives are Safe demonstrating a healthy lifestyle.
Through out the school year our program creates, organizes, and initiates activities to promote learning, and the social development of our school community. In order to promote learning and social development Student Leadership sponsors Prairie Hills' nights at local restaurants, and Skate City. The funds raised go towards needed materials for our school. Student Leadership also promotes the Box Tops for Education program to raise funds for Prairie Hills. Our program also raises funds to help young people battling cancer by conducting our annual "Pennies for Patients Campaign".
Student Leadership works to promote school spirit during "Spirit Week". Each day during the third week of May the whole school can show its spirit by participating in the wacky daily dress-up activities.
Our program does so much more to help Prairie Hills Elementary thrive. If you match our criteria, please join our team this upcoming year.
