Second Grade

Welcome to 2nd Grade at Prairie Hills Elementary! Second grade is a wonderful year filled with learning, discovering, experimenting and growing.  Together with parent support, we strive to teach your child to become an independent and responsible citizen.  We will be covering reading with an increased focus on comprehension. We will explore the writing process using a variety of literary genres. In math, we will build on the foundation that kindergarten and 1st grade established, using the Everyday Math curriculum. Second grade Social Studies includes Geography, Economics, and Citizenship.  Our areas of study in science are Physical, Earth, and Life Sciences.  We are looking forward to a great year!
