Prairie Hills students welcome new students with tours
Prairie Hills Elementary has a team of students who are tasked with supporting the school's equity and inclusion work in the form of welcoming new students to the school. These student leaders warmly invite new students by walking them around the school to introduce them to staff and teach them what they need to know about the school.
"Where is PE? Bathroom procedures, lunch protocols, etc." All these questions are answered on the tours.
Prairie Hills does this for all new students, and when there is a language difference, they prioritize including a same-language buddy, when possible, in addition to the student leaders.
