A passion for life-long learning and working with children led me into the education field. I began my Adams 12 career in education as a first and second grade teacher, then later became a Student Achievement Coach, and now serve as a Digital Literacy Teacher Librarian. I currently split my time between two elementary schools, Prairie Hills and Meridian Elementary. I joined the Prairie Hills team in 2007.
Working as a Digital Literacy Teacher Librarian is a perfect fit because I enjoy assisting students in their academic endeavors, supporting literacy, and teaching 21st century skills. The library is a hub of learning in the heart of the school where staff, students and community members can immerse themselves in a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction resources in both print and electronic form.
I also have a passion for literacy promotion and am the district coordinator for Adams 12 Elementary Battle of the Books. I volunteer and assist with the Colorado Children's Book Award (CCBA) each year.
I am one of the GT coordinators for both Meridian and Prairie Hills Elementary.
When I am not occupied with teaching and managing library lessons and activities at my two schools, I enjoy reading, sewing, watercolor painting, traveling, watching movies, making crafts and things, and spending time with my family.
