I feel honored to be a staff member at Prairie Hills Elementary. The 2018-2019 school year will be my 31th year of teaching in Adams County School District 12. I have taught as an ESL teacher and a classroom teacher in both primary and intermediate grades. I obtained my Master’s Degree in Social, Multicultural, and Bilingual Foundations of Education with an emphasis in ELL instruction from Colorado University on August of 2004. At Prairie Hills I support our language diverse learners through various stages of language development by offering a program where language structures are taught developmentally through challenging, content rich, and comprehensive instruction.
On a personal note, I have been married to a wonderful husband for 33 years! I have two terrific children, Connor and Logan. Connor graduated last year from Colorado State University, and Logan is completing a Master's program at Colorado State University this school year. I also have a black 100 lb. Labradoodle named Elvis. He is very loving, enjoys being in and around water, and eats anything he can find, food or clothing. During the summer my family spends a great deal of time wakeboarding and tubing. When we get a chance, we like to go camping and hiking. I also enjoy scrapbooking, reading, and getting together with family and friends.
